What
are these directories once I connect to my FTP?
When you connect to your FTP, you will see a few
directorys listed. These are as follows:
Mail
public_ftp
public_html
tmp
www -> public_html
Anything that is put into the public_ftp folder,
can be accessed by people connecting to your FTP
anonymously.
Anything that is in the public_html folder, is
acessable to people accessing your website, so
generally its a good idea to put an index.html
in that folder, so that people get directed to
that instead of being able to see your directorys.
The www -> public_html is just a link, which
takes you to the public_html folder.
Do NOT make any changes to the tmp and mail folders.
TMP stores your webstatistics and mail contains
your email.
